By USM Media Team
The Director General of the renowned political pressure group, Unique Sound Minds Initiative (USM), Chief Austine Akpotu Emaduku PhD today Sunday, May 17, 2026, hosted members of the group’s media team at his residence in Egini Community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta with pomp and pageantry.
The gathering, which witnessed moments of interaction and celebration was organised by the Director General as a way of appreciating the media team for their dedication and commitment to the activities of the group before, during, and after its inauguration.
Speaking during the event, Chief Emaduku said the emergence of Unique Sound Minds Initiative signals the birth of a new political consciousness in Udu Kingdom, stressing that the time had come for the people of Udu to rise above division, political sentiments and the culture of opposition politics which, according to him, has held Udu Kingdom backward since 1999.
According to him, the primary election is only one phase of the political process noting that the larger task ahead remains the main general election. He therefore called on political stakeholders and the people of Udu to embrace unity and speak with one voice irrespective of individual interests.
“The primary election is just an arm of the process. What is important now is the main election. We must forget about divide-and-rule politics in Udu. Since 1999, Udu has not spoken with one voice politically and this has affected our collective progress. Whosoever emerges as the party’s candidate should enjoy the support of all. Udu must unite and speak with one voice,” he stated.
Chief Emaduku further revealed that the core mandate of Unique Sound Minds Initiative is to mobilise citizens across political and social divides, harmonise the aspirations of the masses into a united political demand, and encourage political leaders toward unity, issue-based politics, and electoral accountability.
He noted that the group was established as a political pressure platform committed to unity, mobilisation, and mass political alignment in Udu Kingdom.
“Our mission is to remove Udu from the continuous backwardness associated with opposition politics. We will continue to sensitise our people on the need to embrace progressive politics and support leaders and policies capable of advancing the development of Udu Kingdom,” he added.
The Director General also reiterated the group’s commitment towards mobilising grassroots support for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
USM, whose motto is “One People. One Purpose. One Voice,” is founded on principles of unity, civic engagement, issue-based politics, transparency, inclusion, and non-violence. The group also seeks to build strong ward-to-polling-unit mobilisation structures aimed at giving ordinary citizens a stronger voice in governance and political participation.
Members of the media team while responding, expressed gratitude to the Director General for hosting them and for his continued support and encouragement. They assured him of their readiness to continue projecting the image, aims, objectives and charter of the Unique Sound Minds Initiative to the public.
They noted that the reception would further motivate them to intensify awareness campaigns on the group’s vision of unity, political alignment, and collective development for Udu Kingdom.
