Oyibode Charges Udu Residents on Healthy Living as World Health Day is Celebrated, Salutes Health Workers.
The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the council area as the world marks World Health Day.
In a statement issued on Tuesday,
07/04/26, the Council Chairman noted that the annual observance of World Health Day serves as a reminder of the importance of accessible and affordable healthcare for all citizens, particularly at the grassroots.
Oyibode emphasized that good health remains a fundamental pillar for sustainable development, stressing that no meaningful progress can be achieved without a healthy population. He highlighted ongoing efforts by his administration to strengthen primary healthcare services, improve medical infrastructure, and support health personnel within Udu Local Government Area.
The Chairman also called on Udu people to take proactive steps towards maintaining healthy lifestyles, including regular medical check-ups, proper hygiene, and adherence to public health guidelines.
While commending healthcare workers for their dedication and sacrifices, Oyibode described them as the backbone of the healthcare system, urging them to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties.
He further assured the people of Udu that his administration would continue to partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure that quality healthcare services are not only available but also accessible to all.
World Health Day is celebrated annually on April 7 to raise awareness on global health issues and promote healthier living among people worldwide.
