The Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, is currently attending the 2025 International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Conference in London, United Kingdom.
The global gathering, themed “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity,” brings together policymakers, maritime experts, and world leaders to deliberate on the environmental and economic significance of the oceans. This year’s conference emphasises the ocean’s vital role in sustaining life, protecting livelihoods, and driving the global economy.
The IMO is the United Nations’ specialised agency responsible for ensuring the safety and security of international shipping, as well as preventing marine and atmospheric pollution from ships.
Rep. Ukodhiko’s presence at the conference highlights his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s maritime interests and supporting policies that enhance sustainable ocean governance.
