NYCN Delta Announces Key Appointments To Strengthen Youth Leadership Framework
The State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Delta State Council, Comr. Odiri Milton Sagboje, CLN, has approved a new set of strategic appointments aimed at strengthening the administrative framework and enhancing the operational efficiency of the Council across the state.
According to a statement signed by the State Secretary, Comr. Micheal Chukwuemeke Onyimah, the following individuals have been appointed into key positions within the State Executive Council:
- Comr. Aboyi Lawson – Chief of Staff
- Comr. Tomi Akporoghene Wojuola – Principal Secretary
- Comr. Landlord Agbagoro – Chief Administrative Adviser
- Comr. Custodians Ushi Isreal – National Liaison Officer
- Mr. Innocent Adarighofua – Special Adviser (Special Duties)
- Comr. Afigho Aaron – Director of Media and Publicity
The statement noted that the appointments, which take effect from October 1, 2025, form part of the Council’s broader reforms to ensure effective coordination, inclusive participation, and responsive leadership across all NYCN structures in Delta State.
Providing brief profiles of the appointees, the statement highlighted that Comr. Aboyi Lawson, the new Chief of Staff, currently serves as the Publicity Secretary of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Youth Wing Worldwide and is the immediate past Vice Chairman of NYCN, Ethiope West LGA. He is also a committed member of the Baptist Youth Fellowship and the Nigeria Youth Organization, both affiliate bodies of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
Comr. Tomi Akporoghene Wojuola, the newly appointed Principal Secretary, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the Council’s Director of Media and Publicity. He is also the current Secretary of the NYCN Peace and Reconciliation Committee and serves as Special Assistant on Media to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State. He is a dedicated member of the Federation of Boys and Girls.
Comr. Landlord Agbagoro, now Chief Administrative Adviser, is a former Vice Chairman of NYCN in Delta Central and an immediate past Councillor in Ethiope East LGA. He is also an active member of the Nigerian Scout.
Similarly, Comr. Custodians Ushi Isreal, the new National Liaison Officer, is a renowned youth advocate for inclusion and participation in governance across Africa. He is the Convener of the Global Afrikan Youth Inclusion Initiative and a past New Media Director of NYCN, South-South Zone. He is also a member of the Voluntary Work Camp (VWC).
While congratulating the appointees, the statement charged them to demonstrate diligence, discipline, and dedication in carrying out their duties, emphasizing that their appointments reflect the Council’s vision to foster a more coordinated, responsive, and impactful youth leadership structure in the state. It urged the new appointees to contribute meaningfully toward advancing the Council’s mandate and strengthening partnerships with relevant government agencies, private sector actors, and development partners.
Its added that the Comr. Sagboje’s administration remains committed to inclusivity, innovation, and youth empowerment and these appointments are strategic and aimed at driving the collective vision of building a stronger youth movement that promotes good governance, peace, and sustainable development in Delta State.
