Gov Sheriff’s Aide, Jagboro Receives Nelson Mandela Pan-African Leadership Award

Okakuro B.A Jagboro, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Community Development, has been conferred with the Nelson Mandela Pan-African Leadership Award of Excellence as ICON of TRUE DEMOCRACY by the Stay-African Youth Development Initiative (SAYDI).

The award recognizes Jagboro’s selfless service, peace-building efforts, and community development initiatives. SAYDI’s Vice President for West Africa, Amb. Austin Kwassi, praised Jagboro’s visionary leadership, commitment to humanity, and dedication to good governance.

He said, SAYDI represents over 900 million young people in West Africa. The organization focuses on youth leadership, entrepreneurship, and skills development, emphasized that Jagboro’s leadership style aligns with Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Jagboro expressed his profound gratitude and dedicated the award to God, the people of Okpe Kingdom, Governor Oborevwori, and the people of Delta State. He emphasized that the award would inspire greater service to humanity and the society.

In his words “This honour is not just about me, rather it’s about the ideology we shared as young people, noting that governance is totally about the people, their welfare and progress”.

He thanked and commended the organisers for their continued selfless services to leadership and governance focusing on youth inclusiveness, peace and development of African youths.

The award ceremony included presentations in various categories, followed by a reception at Jagboro’s Asaba home. Other SAYDI representatives in attendance included Amb. Dominic Eve, SAYDI-Nigeria representative and Hon. Mrs. Christella Wisdom-Director,Gender and Finance, Republic of Chad.
